About the Role:

We are seeking a Fully Remote Australia and New Zealand Sales & Business Development Manager — a highly self-motivated and strategic thinker who can organise and grow Exisle Publishing’s sales channels. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Analyze and optimize sales channels, reducing inefficiencies and driving revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define clear sales targets aligned with Exisle’s strategic goals.
  • Co-ordinate with the Sales Administrator to develop and execute sales strategies, expanding digital and online opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with bookstores, online retailers, wholesalers, and distribution partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional opportunities.
  • Oversee and grow key national accounts and co-ordinate with our current sales team and regional reps to ensure these accounts are nurtured and growing
  • Align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and publishing schedules.
  • Establish and lead a lean and effective sales team.
  • Monitor stock levels to balance supply and demand across front-list and backlist titles.
  • Identify new market opportunities, including educational institutions, libraries, and niche retail channels.
  • Support author-facing educational programs through Exisle Academy and the Children’s Publishing Academy.
  • Lead sales campaigns focused on thematic initiatives such as mental health awareness and educational bundles.
  • Track sales performance, generate reports, and adjust strategies based on data insights.
  • Represent the company at book fairs, industry events, and client meetings.
  • Manage budgets and forecast sales projections.

  • Competitive and highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Experience in sales or marketing, preferably within publishing or related industries.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Apatable, fast learner, confident to figure things out on the go.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to navigate large volumes of data.
